Below Deck Mediterranean: First look of series six
Below Deck Mediterranean has been airing on Bravo and the series welcomed Pete Hunziker as deckhand in season five. He was lead deckhand for the start of the season and was demoted to deckhand for the remaining episodes in the season. Fans are keen to find out what happened to him following his departure from the series.

What happened to Pete on Below Deck?
Below Deck Med's Pete was introduced to boating life by a retired US Navy Seal whilst he was in high school.
He became known as 'Party Pete' during charters and was a licensed US Coast Guard with plenty of energy.
Life was not always fun and games for Pete, as he spent six weeks in a coma after falling ill as a teenager.
Thankfully he was able to get himself back on track and headed straight back so he could provide for his son.
Pete disappeared after season five of the series and fans are keen to know what happened to him.

In June 2020 it was announced by Bravo that Pete had been cut from the series following a racist and sexist meme he had previously posted online.
In a joint statement, Bravo and production company 51 Minds said: "Peter Hunziker of Below Deck Mediterranean has been terminated for his racist post.
"Bravo and 51 Minds are editing the show to minimize his appearance for subsequent episodes.”
Pete was set to be a major character in the fifth season, with the whole instalment having already been filmed.
Bravo had to edit the remainder of the season following the reemergence of the social media post.

Below Deck: Pete has since apologised for the post (Image: BRAVO)
Pete took to Instagram to address the post, at first saying it was "not racism".
However, he later replied to a fan: "I understand my mistakes. I'm sorry for those I upset."
His departure from the series came in the wake of the Black Lives Matter movement, following the death of George Floyd.
Pete was found to have posted a story on his Instagram page which was brought to Bravo's attention.
The post was a meme showing racist and degrading images - Pete has since deleted his Instagram account.

In July 2020, Pete issued a formal apology via Instagram, saying: "A little over 3 months ago someone sent me a meme on social media and I thoughtlessly reposted it.
"I now realize how painful the imagery and symbolism is and, upon deeper consideration, I realize that the implicit bias that exists in the brief text written in the meme is offensive.
"To all those I have hurt and offended please know that I am genuinely sorry. I have always fully supported equal rights and equal opportunities for ALL people.
"Be safe, stay well, and always think before you post, With love, Pete."

Pete did not have an easy ride during his stint on Below Deck Mediterranean and he got into plenty of arguments.
Captain Sandy Yawn called him out on inappropriate comments made to bosun Malia White after he referred to her as "sweetie".
He is not the only Bravo TV star to have been fired as a result of sharing racist posts.
The network also fired actors from the reality series Vanderpump Rules, including Stassi Schroeder, Kristen Doute, Max Boyens and Brett Caprioni.
